63in springs installed. but!
« on: Sep 08, 2006, 09:23:59 PM »
i did what the FAQ sayed and all that,i also read as much as i could about them.
i went to flex them out and they dont even tighten the stock rear break line.

i have 8in eye to eye shackles moved 4in back, marlin U-bolt flip and 31/2X31/2X1/4 front mounts moved 11in foward.

any ideas, i wont do a double shackle.
what do you think?

:worthless:

your rear shackles need to angle  from the frame to the end of the springs  \  so  they look as thow  they would act as a ramp to jump over the cab of the truck,  does that make sense??   DO NOT TIGHTEN THE SHACKLE BOLTS TIGHT

were these new springs or did you get them used?  if they are new then it is possible that they just need to be broken in.

Marlin 4" springs are the only way to go.  I had 63" Chevy's out back and they were unstable.
