just recieved my Sept/Oct 4wd Toy owner mag and see its Marlin to the rescue helping an FJ Cruiser owner that broke a control arm and mangled some sheet metal get rolling again at the TTORA 'Con event.  to Marlin

I was there!  Marlin worked his ass off to help the unprepared FJ driver get out of the trail.  The yellow FJ now belongs to bentup.com and will be turned into a wheeling machine!

Huge props to Marlin for going out of his way to help someone who probably shouldn't have been there to start with.

That's just Marlin, and should be how we all are when it comes to helping someone on the trail that got into it over their heads, or needs some other type of help. It isn't like he broke while travelling down Interstate 5 or something. I've always been that way, in fact once I was going to High Desert Roundup and there was a motorhome on the side of the road with a Jeep in tow. Even though they had any type of service required around I stopped to see what happened. Turns out they blew a radiator hose, since I lived in the area I gave him a ride to Autozone to get a new hose, helped him install it and made sure he got back on the road. Just think how you'd feel if you were in trouble offroad and someone came by and just kept going, that would just suck.

I've known Marlin to open his shop to help a stranded fellow wheeler.

yup, I am the same way, I have been knowned to take people to my house and work on their junk for free just because I could help.

And that person you passed on the trail you didn't help may pass you and not help when you are in trouble. What comes around goes around.

That's why I set myself up with as much stuff as I can cause I am more prepared to help myself and others if needed.

Way to go Marlin.

I had a friend tell me today how Marlin helped a budy of ours at MCR that stipped out his third member. I realized that this was the 3rd person I knew that had been bailed out by Marlin over the years. I will always give my referals and support to Marlin.

With my new 3RZFE motor, I hope there is more room to install the bigger alt.
I am soo tired of burning up the GM 10DN/12SI units.

I want everone to know that I had a great time at the MCR-5, in spite of helping a number of people.

Not only did Marlin help nearly everyone out, he turned around and donated the proceeds from the weekend to FOTR. WOW what a guy. Marlin you are the man.

We past him when he was helping Nub replace a rear output shaft.  they basically rebuilt the whole transfercase right there along the trail.  nice to have air tools.  Marlin was right there under the truck and everything.  it is nice to have good people out there on the trail that are willing to help out total strangers.
