roller fairleads can be damaged really easy and with winch rope you dont want that because you can damage the rope. also the hawes fairlead is lore lo profile

What about friction problems, espcially if you have been in a mud hole?

Low profile is a plus, do rollers get damaged due to their protrusion?

Well they can get screwed up pretty easily and then not roll. my friend has one on his warn bumper and it seems it is broken or bent more than it works. he never uses his winch though so his laziness gets the best of him and it takes him forever to fix it :)

i have the marlin crawler style on my winch bumper but its integrated into my bumper, i like it, nothing to break and its already set up for an upgrade to a synthetic rope

BTW, RCT nice rig. easily one of my favorite third gens. just got done reading this thread dunno how i missed it before.

So you dont use rollers on the synthetic?  Cause if I can get my jeep back I was going to go synthetic!  I have rollers, their protected though

I guess their not really protected right now except they dont stick out in front just about a halfin or maybe just a bit more.  I suppose I could put a square plate over them and cut a hole for the line to run out.   It might be kinda cool, I have some half in diamond  plate left and just box that area in.

Thats cool, so when I get synthetic I will just have to pull the rollers, plate, and bolt on a haws!  Good to know!

Everyone I know that runs a toyota rear and a D44 front uses 5.38/5.29 gears. There are no 5.29 gears for Dana 44 axles.
