well it's pretty much as good as it's gonna get for a while.

finished my on board air, built a front driveline, mounted a couple ammo cans in the bed, put in some some speakers, deck, amp and a JL 12 inch sub, put on the steering stabilizer, and took a couple pictures to look at.

not as impressive as some of the trucks on here, but i'm more than happy with it.

one of the only problems. but when the spring just starts to go negative, there's actually still about an inch between. probably be a good idea to bump stop it anyways.

nothin' crazy, but it'll work for me.

well i've been driving it for a couple weeks now, finally figured it up and i'm getting about 15 miles to the gallon.

i'm real happy with everything but the motor and the interior, so... as soon as i sell my weatherby .270 i'll be buying a timing chain kit for a 22RE i've got, and new gauges for the interior.

the plan is to put in the 22RE and RE wiring harness, splice in the lights, put in the tilt wheel steering column from the '87 i got the motor and stuff from, build an interior cage, tie it into the bed cage, and then custom dash and everything.

and maybe hopefully in the future a locker, gears and tires....

Do yourself a favor before you break it, rotate that steering stabilizer mount up so the nuts are on top, it's a serious rock hanger right now.

Hey, im thinking about starting a cage in the back of my 82, and want to make it removable, with mounting flanges and stuff, poking up through the bedfloor, a lot like yours.  I was wondering, for the main hoop behind the cab, since it's base is wider than the framerails did you just run some tube out from the side of the frame, do a ninety degree bend, and pop it up through the bed closer to the bedsides?  I've just been thinking about it and wondering if there was any other way...

yep, that's what we did. we were also thinkin' about doin' it like the shock hoops, run a tube straight out, and then put the hoop on top of that. but i think this was the easiest/best looking way.

Yea...I think thats what I will end up doing eventually,,, either that, or see if it would work out to install some sliders, and then run the main hoop off of one of the lateral conntecting tubes for the sliders... it would have to line up with where I want the cage to be though, or Id have to just add an extra one.... anyway, cool... thanks for the response and the pic.

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

get it in there as soon as possible, and then see what i can do to tune it up. right now i'm still researching what it's going to take to put it in there.
