Well i got a lot of noobie questions to ask and as how i dont get much views in my original thread i will start a new one, but i got a lot of questions....

What would the cost be for a 3.4 liter Tacoma engine, i heard they are a good swap for my 80 pickup.

Also i got some 5.29 gears for my truck, i wana run 38 inch swampers but i know my 20R does not have the power to get them spinning in deep mud or going up steep hill climbs, im not relly intrested in the dual transfer case setup as i need tire speed mainly.....
Would a normal 22R be enough power or should i be looking into a v-6 swap or maby a cheap chevy 350 small block.
any ideas!!!,  my truck is also gona be locked front and rear and running Smurfields...
Iève seen a guy with a newer yota, v-6 and locked front and rear with smurfs and he broke an axel shaft and the smurfs were fine.... so ya.

any one else here run 38 swampers with 5.29s and a low powered engine like mine in the mud, do you get any tire speed.

come to think of it i am relly intrested in the small block chevy swap, i heard they make adapter kits so you can keep your original 5 speed tranny and transfer case, is this a costley mod, is there alot of work that has to been done, i got a mechanic that can do all the work .

If you really want to do an engine swap and you need real power do a 4.3 Chevy, don't bother with the v8 that will be too tight and too heavy. The 4.3 has plenty of power unless you are sand dragging it.

Don't know about mud, but my truck can climb sand dunes pretty good with a single case w/4.7's and 38's and stock 22re. Put it in low range, 3rd gear and I get enough tire speed to climb the dune

Anyone who has ever built a Toy engine will attest that they are big $$$$, for what I have in mine, I could have a really slammin 350hp crate motor. But, I didn't want a chevota. The engine I'd like to do is the Toy V8 or when people start wrecking them the engine out of the new cruiser.
