would be great for around town driving, but if you do mostly highway miles and go over 240 miles in a day then it would be a pain in the ass to be sitting at a gas station for a couple of hours or more waiting for your car to charge up.

I go about 20 miles a day, so, so far, not bad.

I agree with red.  Would be great for around town type stuff. Not a bad looking car either.   I wander if anyone will ever invent/make an alternater that will charge the batteries while you are driving.??  Seems if that could be achieved then there would be no holding electric cars back. :headscratch:
I don't need a winch, I wheel a TOYOTA!!!!!!!

not in more rural places like west texas, but anywhere around larger cities i'd agree about them having charging stations.

personally i like the idea, the vast majority of people drive less than 50 miles per day and alot of stop and go traffic, so electric cars or motorcycles is the way to go.

Looks pretty cool.  I wonder what it would do to my power bill?

With the optional solar charger it might make you some money!

I think they would be great for small towns like eureka ( sorry)

Wow thats a hot car    but i dout it fits in 2 a average working persons budget.
maybe a CEO/bosses could afford it.

and if it dose sweet
I think they should have  a permotion. Say take a coperate Company who has lots of drivers/commuters  and offer a discount  if say 20+ people buy them  and the CO install E-car parking Friendly parking spots.
I think that would be a good way 2 get them out there.

Why are you sorry about eureka?  It's a cool place, except for all the damn hippies!  I plan on making a trip or two over that way once our season ends to stay at my friend's dads campground.  Well, a little south of eureka, but I hafta run right through there anyway.  Look out for the hippies and 30ft + tall pot plants growing outside city hall and you're ok.

I think that'd be a pretty fun way to get around, especially the zero-60 in 4 seconds part!

i think there is a guy in the Sacramento area designing an electric rock crawler. It is suposed to have a motor at each wheel. This shoule be awsome if it ever comes to light.

Maybe in Cali, not in FL. It's a very cool looking car but also very small. Wouldn't fit my needs.

:headscratch: what was the price? i missed that part. And Captain Safety wants to know what happens if you crash? Can the batteries catch on fire? Leak battery acid on passengers?  :outtahere: Electrocute you? hmmmm....

biggest downside to this car in my opinion, theres only 2 forward gears. since its a sports car style y not give it a 5 or 6 speed? granted you cant hear the engine rev but it still is alot more fun to drive a sports car with a stick.

i'm hoping that if this catches on maybe they will make crate engines for a reasonable price. for buggy's and vehicles like that that never travel far, propane is the cleanest option right now, maybe this will become a viable option in the near future.

Because it's not a short rev combustable engine that necessitates a multi speed tranny.  Best I can figure anyway.

i kinda figured that but its so much fun to drive a sports car manual. it would also increase its travel distance, since the top gear it has right now is around 2.5:1 if i remember correctly.

Wait a bit longer on these...if someone can get the patents by the govenment and do an end round run around the energy companies, you may see some very slick low to zero physical fuel engines.  They are out there...just seems that no one wants to take the risk and back them.  These Silicon Valley companies might be a bit more open to some off the wall concepts.
