diamond plate and round tubing...ill take some pics when i go back to school tuesday and post them in here so you can see.....i got the idea of my buddys brothers jeep

question: are you gonna put somethin between the bodymount and the body or not just seems like it would squeek a little after a while without some sort of bushing there

I dont know weather or not it would squeek or not sandwitched in there, but it wont have a bushing per say but it will have bed liner on the underside as well as the floor of the interior.  I dont know if that will prevent squeeking or not but lets hope cause if it squeeks too much it will bug the crap out of me!!!

Now ya got me thinking I wonder if there will be too much movement,  I wouldnt think there would be with 4 grad 8 bolts per mount but I dont know?   HMMMMM

Heres a few pics of the skid structure to give me something to slide off things on, there will be a plate that bolts to the slanted down section to protect the fuel cell/ lines, as will as help with departure and back up protecting.  Hope to have some good pics of the front four link in the morning!!

here they are so far...sry took so long




that D-plate started out nice and rusty, in about a 10 foot section...had to get two of them, got then cut to size, sand blasted then clean, made a jig to weld them up in. got one tacked and time was out so i had my buddy chris (lil buddy) help me cut the extra metal off the jig it warped so i had to make the 2nd one with magnets...got them welded up and now im working on the bars... i have to ghetto rig the bars out of already sectioned tubing...at school monday ill take a pic of the bar before i cut it to size and weld it on, then ill take a pic of the bars i have to make the 2nd one out of...really ghetto, but when all said and done i hope they work really well...spent a lot of time and blood working on these lil guys

Cool man, no worries on the time,  I was supposed to have my four lin done 2 weeks ago,  but hopefully by next week.  Anyways nice work,  are you going to weld the bars onto your frame on onto your rocker guards?   Its gonna be sween man, good work.

yeah im welding some bars together and then im gunna weld it to the face of that d-plate....its gunna be bolted in with the the body mounts, so it will be sturdy...hopefully, if not then ill just tie it into the frame somehow, im not worried about it


ill take a pic monday with the bar tacked on if i get done cutting the legs on it down. right now it sits 3" off the the plate and i want to cut it down to 1.5-2" if i can

alright guys its not done yet, ran into a snag,  due to clearances couldnt tuck the four link up in the frame rails the way I wanted to so heres whats going on.  Progress is slow, I have been trying to get the hardwood floors in before I start back up at school.  So anyways heres the progress,  just have to get the tabbs welded on the axle and its ready to test the front four link out.  It all worked out good cause the front and rear links are the same length.

I got the four link done today and am planing on taking it down for the exhaust tomorrow, or at latest friday.  I will try and get some pics  and get em up tomorrow evening.

LOL i am hoping it will all be tied up here in about 2 weeks.  I was hoping to have it done for memorial day but as you can see it aint happening.  Are you bringing your jeep to kansas for its inagural run?  Im hoping the weekend after memorial but we will see.  I am hoping to have all fab work done next week and havethe frame, cage, bumpers, and sliders painted and have the body off to get ready for paint.  So  and we will see.

I would love to make it to the round up,  but the only way I can make it is if it falls on break.  I am stuck in school year around, but I get 3 weeks off inbetween trimesters.  But my wife and I are planing to come out the summer after graduation for sure, Definatly gonna need to blow off some steam after  4 years of year around school    When is the roundup next year,   do they plan it that far ahead?

It would be great if you could come out to Cali. the round up is usualy around the same time each year so plan ahead
