Griffin Ortiz was a good fight, decision sucked but I didnt think Griffin was going to make it thru round one, he was taking a beating. Then in my opinion took the last 2 rounds. Amazing that he could turn it around and come back. Good job Forrest!
dissapointed with the Arlovski Sylvia fight, it was an exciting upset but I was hoping it was going to be a brawl.
See everyone for 60 May 27th, Hughes and Gracie

Shamb

I can't believe they gave the decision to Ortiz!  That was complete  :bull crap: !

Arlovski... what can I say?  he got to over anxious, stuck a stiff punch in the jaw.. Sylvia goes down and then............ WHAT?!

I know Arlovski can beat Sylvia.. that was just a freak occurance.

I was glad to see Monson beat down that jackass that beat Frank Mir (luck)  that guys OVER in my eyes.
Tanner had a clear win so that wasn't a big deal... and Nick Diaz is just going downhill

All in all a good/ upsetting fight.. i'm really looking forward to seeing Gracie and Hughes fight..

Arlovski's chin had never really been tested, Sylvia got in a small shot and dropped him proving Arlovski doesnt have a good chin.  Dont get me wrong he is an amazing fighter, the simple fact that he went against heavy hitters like Cabbage and the head hunter and the janitor(sorry I cant remmeber how to spell any of there real names) and be so dominate in those fights proves he is one of the best, but when he finally faced someone that could take a punch and still return with good shots it showed his weakness.  Cant wait to see the rubber match

Ortiz and Griffen....I know this is going to upset people but Ortiz won the fight.  Yes Griffen did an amazing job of coming back and winning the second round.  But he He didnt dominate the second round, yes he controlled where the fight was at and landed some good punches, but ortiz was pushing the action with his shots, so that one was a close round 10-9. Noone will dissagree Ortiz won the first round 10-9 and  maybe even 10-8.  THe last round Griffen stuffed a couple of shoots and landed a couple of good punches but Ortiz also landed some good punches and then when he took him down, even though he wasnt able to inflict alot of ground and pound he still scored with the take down and a few shots.  When Griffen stood up he could have stolen the fight if he just let his fist fly, he probably would have put Ortiz on his heels but he didnt and they just traded shots.  So when it came down to score ortiz edged it out with that take down a couple of good strikes in the last.  But Griffen proved he belongs, getting respect from Ortiz and alot of others.

Daiz....man this kid has tons of potientail, he trans with the gracies, he is real young and has plenty of time to improve, He has a very unorthodoxed way of fighting.  He had his chin sticking way out, and he stayed at one level.  THe benifit he had in this fight was his hieght.  He should have changed levels through out the fight not letting Sherk find the range.  Hopefull Daiz will work out what he needs to and comeback.

Monson is a Bull...plane and simple.  Did you see the fight where he choked out that guy with a north south choke...crazy...does he have the speed to match Arlovski.  And if he faces Sylvia... if he can get a get him to the ground he has a chance but he didnt deal with cruz's hieght very well and Sylvia is a Way better stricker than cruz.

Sorry for this being so long and late just thought I would through in my  :twocents:

Quotebut ortiz was pushing the action with his shots

Obviously we weren't watching the same fight. This is exactly why I thought Griffen should have won that fight. He pushed Tito the ENTIRE 3 rounds!  And during the... (2nd?  maybe 3rd)  when he COMPLETELY demobilized Tito's weak ass take down's that should have showed something in itself. Yes Tito landed some good shots and yeah he won the first round getting Griffen down on the ground and doing his usual bs.. but reguardless.. in my eyes that wasn't enough to win.

On a lighter note, Arlovski's chin did buckly but your talking about a guy thats 6'8 and 240+ lbs.. LOL... Arlovski wasn't expecting Sylvia to throw a punch because he had him totally stunned (or so he thought)  thats why he wasn't covering up THUS got dropped to the ground.  What REALLY p*ssed me off is how EASY Arlovski GAVE UP after he hit the ground.. he just covered up and didn't even attempt to counter it/flip/rotate DO SOMETHING!

Ya dean I took the servo apart and spun the gear that stripped around so it is using the good side.  I also found replacement gears for $15 on Towerhobbies so I got them and a second servo coming in the mail.

Shamb....to each his own, if you feel that Griffin won than that is your right.  BUT, to say that Tito took Him down and did his same "BS"....what...Ground and Pound is BS.  So does that mean you think Hughes is all BS.  Not just Hughes BUt what Franklin did to Dewees and Shamrock, or what GSP did to Trigg, or half the guys in the UFC do.  Look I understand alot of guys dont like Tito, he is brash a loud mouth and cocky(he has grown up ie the apology to the owners and Dana after the fight).  But to say what he does on the ground is BS is like saying Mike Tyson couldnt punch, ya the guy is a out of control freak, but he can punch.  Yes Tito's shoots were not up to his old caliber but you try shooting with two torn ligamite in your knee.  But like I said in the first post  Griffin did an excellent job of recovering from the first round and taking the second round.  But in my eyes they went toe to toe in the last round with neither man really controlling the round, so when tito got the take down that was just enough to edge up on points. But like I said if you feel diffrent then more power to you, I really hope they have a second fight, by then tito will be recovered from an impending knee surgary and Griffin will have had time to really build confidence in the Octagon and not have to be hit first before he starts swinging, should be a really good rematch

Arloski...ya Sylvia is a mountian of a man. I agree Arloski was not expecting him to swing and left him open, but that comes from fighting several guys that folded up when he connected.  I watched it several times and I cant really tell if he was rocked or if he just gave up, it is hard for me to believe a guy like Arloski is just going to give up, but when he sat up right after the ref stopped it it looked like he was all there...thats another rubber match that is going to get all kinds of hype.

Shamb

Now there's a bit of a difference when I say "Tito's BS ground and pound" and GP in general. As far as i'm concerned thats ALL Tito has, thats my point... yes Hughes and a number of others do alot of GP as well... BUT! ....they've got ALOT more tricks in the bag. Hughes is a great stand up fighter, great ground game including GP, defense, positions and what have you.  Dont get me wrong I dont absolutely hate Tito but I do think he's a punk for the way he acted and I also feel that now that he's got tossed off his thrown and kicked in the face with dirt many times he's playing an "Act" just to get back in.

I must confess, since i've been watching Ultimate Fighter on Spike i've gained more respect for Tito and less for Shamrock for obvious reason's if you watch the show!

Looking forward to the next UFC, I've been a loyal fan ever since it started back in... 90'?   When Gracie Jui-Jitsu hit the mats and showed that a 180lb skinny guy could take down the biggest baddest dudes for 5 consecutive UFC's.

OK...I was thinking you were saying GP was BS.  I see your point.  He is lacking in the stand up game...which was obvious when he tried to go toe to toe with Chuck.  I am also like you, I am starting to gain respect for tito watching the show and less for shamrock. Shamrock knows he doesnt have the greatest submision game and yet he didnt bring anybody with him to help teach the guys how to work the ground game...and his attitude towards there training is just not what I expected from the legandary Lions Den teacher.  Come on Golf..I like to swing the clubs but if you are going to try to upmoral and unit the team do it with something they actually will enjoy not something that is going to further alianate his team.  And the previews for next week says he doesnt even show up for the next session, but like any "reality" show they edit to make a high rating "reality".

As for ufc 60....ya I have no clue who is going to win the welterwieght belt.  But I know I'm watching!!
