I need help posting pics please

I have read the help topics and still can't figure this thing out when i try to post a pic it says the file is to big and i have tried 1 at a time i have good pics of Oklahoma rocks,trails and mud! I like this forum lots of good info thanks.

You need to re-size your image it's too large, do you have a photo editor?

Your pictures are too large, not in dimension, but in file size. Because of our limited storage space, I have set a limitation on uploaded images to 90 kilobytes.

There are three basic ways of reducing the size of your images.

#1: Never never never never never never never never Never try to upload BMP (bit-mapped) images as they are a VERY old and prehistoric graphic file type (DIB) which takes up a lot of space (virtually no compression). If your pictures are BMP, then you could reduce its size by at least 50% simply by saving the image as a JPG (JPEG, Joint Photographic Experts Group) image type, who's lossy compression method is nearly as efficient as ZIP or RAR compressions, although irreversible..

#2: If your image is of a high resolution, such as 3456x2304 or larger, then I highly recommend resizing the image to something more along the lines of 800x600 or so, which will reduce its file size.

#3: There are many different JPG/JPEG utilities that can reduce the quality of the image offering a smaller file size. You can reduce the quality of the image many times without much loss in image quality.

I am also having a problem with posting pics.   I get the image brackets but then under additional options i dont see the browse button to chose the pics.  Help..

When you say 'you get the image brackets' do you mean you understand using the image brackets to insert linked images by the URL?
As far as not being able to see the browse button, I wonder if Mike has set a limit, you may need a certain number of posts as we were having a lot of problems with spammers.
I see you only have 1 post even though you registered in Nov. 2004.
I'll check with the admins and get back to you, in the mean time try upping your post count (it wont' help posting in ChitChatCamp, posting here doesn't count toward post count to eliminate post padding)

due to recent  porn  being posted  settings were changed  so  until a member  introduces themselves and  gets  12 or more posts  you cant get PM's or post pictures
