Anybody use Sky's ifs spacer. If so what do you use to mount the spacer to the ifs hub.

its kinda set up like a stock IFS hub assembly, just with a spacer in the middle between the wheel hub and rotor like shown below. the spacer bolts on to the wheel hub and the rotor bolts to the rear of the spacer. that simple. when you are done it widens the front 3 inches wich is used to match an IFS rear axle out of the 86 and older toyota pickups. ill be ordering mine next week on payday to finish up my axle swap. from what i hear sky-manufacturing are alright

without spacer SFA wheel hub....

with spacer and IFS wheel hub...

Yeah i have the kit, but it didn't come with the bolts to bolt the spacer to the ifs hub. So i was wondering what people were using. i can't get a hold of sky right now and need to get my truck back on the road. thanks

hmm.... i was under the assumption they gave you all the hardware needed to do this?? from what they displayed in their web page where it shows the kit, it shows bolts and such.... unless you are supposed to use the bolts that retain the ifs hub and vented rotor together originally :headscratch: you'll have to get a hold of sky for that answer i suppose.

It looks like the Sky kit uses Socket Head Cap Screws in order to fit the bolt head sub-flush and still have room for the wrench to tighten them.  Definitely give them a call to sort it out if you seem to be missing hardware.  If you're in a rush and happen to have a good hardware/fastener supplier in the neighborhood, figure out the length you want and  the thread pitch is M10x1.25.  A SHCS will default to Class 12.9 and will probably only be available in a black oxide finish

In order to reuse the OEM fasteners, you need to take a different approach.  I'm in the process of doing just that.  Take a look at the attached pictures.
If it never breaks, people can only speculate how much it was overbuilt.

what rotors are those off of? they dont look anything like the vented ones i got?? and is it just the picture playing a trick or is that a hollow kinda spacer? or is it a solid machined aluminum thick spacer? its hard to tell with all the black.

It's basically just a 2-piece rotor setup with an Aluminum hat.  Very common stuff in the sports car world.  When I get a little further along, I'll post a new thread so I'm not charged with 1st degree thread jacking over here.

much appreciated...... i need to know wether this will be a good set up as i need to match my rear ifs year axle. this'd be going on my DD and need to know if its gonna be a reliable modification where i dont have to worry about it rolling a wheel off in the  midle of the highway.

the Sky IFS kit is the way to widen your front axle the RIGHT WAY.   the bolt on spacers dont do anything but put more stress on your bearings. The IFS  hubs are designed to have the rims there  so you are not putting the added stress on your bearings. I would run the IFS hub kit long before buying the bolt on spacer kits that alot of people sell.
