4Runner top question
« on: Jan 30, 2006, 05:03:02 AM »
anyone know wether the 4runner rear removable tops will fit ona short bed as a shell? has anyone done this and been successful??

ive seen em around my local toyota salvage yard and been thinking about a shell, and since this guy cant sell the 4runner tops for very much, he sells em cheap. so im wondering wether its worth looking into for my x-cab :dunno:

I have never thought about that.  You would have to find a way to fasten it down.  You wouldn't have a rear window either.  Now I'm sure there is a way to do it, but it doesn't seem practical to me.  I think they are also heavier than a standard shell would be.

I know for a fact that the mounting surface is twice as wide than a trucks, but probably no wider, now bed hieght could be higher than the trucks but I'm not sure.
