Under the new 85 4runner today dumping all the fluids (looked good) and saw a bracket with some wiring and a sensor that must read a magnet on the driveline.  What's this for?  Hopefully not a mercury switch or something my ex wife is installing along with some C4!!    Obviously it isn't a speedo sensor as there is a speedo cable going into the t case.  Its at the slip end of the driveline near the transfer case.

Without a pic Id say it has/had aftermarket cruise control.  They use a "flying magnet" to read the speed of the vehicle.

You are right!  It has some gay ass after market cruise on it.  Thanks for the reply.  I was wondering for when I dual case it.  I am kind of digging this whole 4runner thing.

Thats what i figured.  I like 4 runners so much I am building one out of my 81!  Im thinking or putting a 94 body on it and doing the same to it.  Should be fun.  Good luck on your buildup.
