1st Gen - truck beds Thanks for the help.
« on: Jan 09, 2006, 05:27:25 PM »
 :help:

Just need to know if the beds from a 2wd and 4wd are the same other than the feder flares.  My bed is getting several holes and the tailgate is gone due to cancer.   I can get an 83 2wd bed with no rust for cheap but will it work?  Don't want to go flatbed yet and a bed bob wont get the rust.  Will I be able to put my flares onto the 2wd bed?

I know this is a stupid question but I hope someone can help me.  Thanks

I'm pretty sure the wheelwells are smaller on the 2wd trucks, but if you're good with metal then you could hog em out and make your flares fit.

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!

I got it for $75, which is a somk'n deal considering "Yota Yard" in Denver CO wanted $500.00 for one with out a tailgate  :screwy: I wonder if a guy would get a kiss  :ladys-man: if they bought one from them?  I might take my old one and sell it to them for a hundred :gap:

Thanks again for all the help, I will only have to trim the lower portion below the seam to fit the fender flares. Other than that they are an exact match.

I will be getting a camera soon and I will start posting pics of my build.   :flamer:
