Thanks BD, but there is more than just the 4 bolts on the plate, and takin those off I don't think is happening. I tried bangin on the plate with a wrench, didn't make a difference
NO!!!!! I pulled the lower ball joint (which needs replacing btw) and got the outside side of the stinkin axle out, and now I can't get the part out of the diff Any tips?
That whole vehicle needs replacing take of the diff cover. I did that with mine, and then you can just tap out the axle from the inside. Real simple on "yodas, I dunno how simple on the 'migo have fun!!
Behind every great man is a woman rolling her eyes
Behind every good woman is a guy going Hey can you take some pictures of this for us to invesagate? Up close and personable. ( the diff silly )
Ok, looks like there is a snap ring on the end of the inside birf that holds it into the side gear. You need a large pry bar between the birf and the diff. A quick pop should release it from the diff. There is no need to open the diff.
No, that is for a snap ring. It catches a groove in the side gear to hold them in. You may need to reuse the ones on the old axles or get new ones. Depends how they look after you finaly get them out. I will look for mor pics.
Looks like there may be a bolt inside the inner birf that holds it into the side gear. Or you could have C clips like a GM? Looking for more info.
