Covered Dish Ideas

We have big plans the weekend after next, (Jan 13 - 15) there is a big campout in Ocala Nat. Forest with the Florida Four Wheel Drive Assoc., its supposed to be huge, like over 150 vehicles. I believe USMCRACING and some other friends of his will be there too.

I've been getting info and directions on that. Looks like Mark and I are taking the lead on getting our Jeep Club set up there. So that's kind of exciting.

They will be having a big cookout but we need to bring a covered dish with us, I want to do something really different and creative.

I know we have a lot of creative cooks out there... so have at it...

Well I don't know what you mean by covered dish but when my club goes camping we have a happy hour after wheelin' all day and we usually bring something out of the ordinary. We go to Costco and get a big box of taquito's, they are easy to fix and man people eat them up.

I'm going to be making Bourbon Balls. Like rum balls, but make with Beam cause MrW doesn't like rum. Taquito's sounds good too!

I was thinking something like a side dish. Most people will probably think tater salad, cole slaw, tossed salad, carrots in green jello... I'll let you know if I find anything interesting.
