i,ve been watching the weather reports and they said there a 40% chance of rain in fresno on saturday so if its snowing on the way up or down, does that mean we need snows chains.

You have a 4x4 don't you? with over sized offroad tires? All you have to do is put it in 4-high, no chains

CHP around here has been known to get stupid. When it's snowing, 4x4 w/ snow tires are okay but I think you have to carry chains and they've asked to see my chains before. Am I going to be making many trips up and down the hill to drag all your sorry butts up to the trail head since I have chains for the tow rig?

SKr3Wjeeps!!

that what i meant , ive notice when i go up there a sign at the biggin of the four lane [must carry chains no exceptions]

freds40

If you have chains for another vehicle, throw them in an ammo can. I've gotten away with that only because they don't want to take the time to lay them out to assure they will fit your tires.

If the chp do pull you over they will turn you around for not having chains if condition req.  I don't think the weather will be that bad.  I've never had a problem but wanted you to now.  And there is alway's the back way LOL.

Shhhh!!!   :psss:   :driving:  Peterson Rd is always available (HEY!! CHP..... :moon: ). Only 30 minutes slower than the normal route. I had to take it 2 weeks ago and it was fun. We hit good, fresh snow earlier than the rest of the group did.

I'm probably out unless UPS holds true to its word and delivers tomarrow ::)  also need to find a trailer to use as the one i normally use will be in turlock. But i will see you all at starbucks since i got to pick up a spare from texcrawler. Finally get the woman to commit to going on a snow run with no heater and can't make it happen :smack: . Would have been fun first run since the rebuild and snow with open diffs :gap: . Hopefully next time

Let's see was waiting on my rear locker but thats in kansas i think right now so i threw in an old open gear set. All wiring is still exposed right now though i'll be taking care of that tomarrow night. Importantly crap from AA for my twin stick the selector is   so i need a new one. I can rent a trailer but need to be able to select 4x4 and not have my t-case leaking all over the damn place. We will see if it's here tomarrow i'll be finishing everything and renting a trailer early sat. if not i'm screwed just gotta hope it comes.

Oh and i have a nice floormat bellhousing cover already in there :gap:

Do you still have the stock shifter? I have a spare shifter, but I don't have the base for it.

Aw come on Kevin, you don't need a t-case shifter. Mine is crap and was the reason that the case would not stay in low. Since I ran into a snag with my mini case, I threw the Cruiser case back in, threw it in 4 low and I'm running no shifter. If I need high for some reason, I'll have the wife get out and throw the lever from underneath.
