:pokinit: No!  I have not been able to get the welder from my friend, because his dad has been using it.

I think I am going to get a credit card and by a welder on that, so I dont have to wait.

I have been approved for $500, so now I just need to fidure out what welder to buy.  I think I have narrowed it down to a Lincoln Electric® Pro MIG 140 Amp Wire Feed Welder http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=166606-1703-K2498-1&lpage=none
It's all i can afford and thats what i have been using all along  :dunno:

Eh' Yo,  I got my rear hangers welded on last night.  Everything fits pretty nice.  My brother can't find his camera so I might not have pics up for awhile.
But damn, these F-150s are soft as :pokinit:, It sits level, until I sit in it then it sags 2-3" to one side
I still have to get the hardware to bolt it all up, but now the rear suspension is done i am going to mount my gas tank now in the center and try and mount the bed.

I just ordered the steering box re-locator kit, so my steering should be done by the begining of next week.
If I can't find the camera I will try and borrow one frm a friend, I want pics as bad as you guy's  :gap:

whiteman

Tonight I started to mount my fuel tank in the bed, I cut a hole in the floor of the bed and stuck the fuel tank up through the bottom, and then I have a nice pretty tool box to set over the top so it is hidden.
To keep the fuel tank in place I am going to snug it up tight to the bed and weld two tabs on each side of the frame and then use two pieces of 3/8 flat bar cut at 36" to run under the tank and strap it in.

Tomorrow I will try and get the tabs welded in and hopfully get the bed mounted.  I have to shorten my rear drive shaft like 2", due to the location of my rear axle   I stretched the front, and shortened the rear, centers everything up swell.

Sorry no pics, hav'nt got a cammera yet. :maddest:

whiteman

I borrowed a Digi cam and got a few pics, My rear spring hangers mounted, and my frame supports for a Knarly-strong reciever.

I will get pics up tonight once all the welding is done, of my bed and fuel tank location.

How many leafs are you running? It looks like three??? :dunno: I can really see from the pic. If your springs are that soft aren't you gonna get major axle wrap?

I forgot to add in... Looks good, keep it up!

As of right now I have 5 leafs up front, and 3 leaves out back.  When I got the F-150's I took out only the over load.
Once I drive it I am sure I will be adding two leafs to the front for a little more stiffness, and in doing this I will probably add one or two to the rear so it sits level.

As far as axle wrap for the rear, I am going run a bar from the center of the axle to a crossmember between the frame rails, using 3/4 hiems.  This should not hinder my flex at all and wont get drug across obsticales.  I have a heavy right foot and I with my boggers traction is great so I want to make sure I am getting the power to the ground, with minimal axle wrap.  I have been told that the F-150s do limit axle wrap well though.

As far as the front goes, I don't know what I am going to do, I have not looked close enough to see how much room I have under the oil pan but I was hoping to do the same thing.  I know that I am going to have to have some problems with the front, because it is so soft, and I do a lot of hills that require lots of throttle and the means axle wrap/wheel hop. :shudder:

I will try and get some recent pics up, I have completed my bed mounts, and painted the bed with some poof can paint, I keep forgeting I borrowed a digi camera from mudadiction  :hammerhead:

I forgot to take the pics but I just picked up my Ford shock towers today for $9ea.  I will get those pics up tommorow when I get my wheel spacers, axle truss kit, and knuckle ball kit from marlin.

When the front is at max flex the drooped side is almost verticle, but you guy's dont get those pics yet

Time to go wheelin!

Ramrod

whiteman

Alright I could not resist, I had to flex it out to see what its got.

The ford springs need some abuse to soften up, and the fronts need some tweeking, but it will work....For now :gap:

whiteman

Had to do some fender trimming  :flamer:

whiteman

So does anyone see anything that I should address, any input. :dunno:

It sure dose not have as much flex as I was imagining, but then again I dream big to  :yesnod:

I am a little worried about my front springs, they "S" an awful lot.

Ramrod

I'd say put another leaf in the front pack and it will make the rears work more which should equal more flex.  Also how did you get it on the ramp like that?

whiteman

I will have to try that.

I pushed the truck up there  :muscles:  Seriously.

Actually later I had a few friends over and after I had cutting the fender in the rear we pushed it up about 6-8 more inches with all wheels still on the ground.  So Its got more flex, tomorrow I will try and get a pic of it as high as it will go.

I need a welder to finish

MiniSimp

You need to tilt that box forward and get the end of the pitman arm level with the pitman arm nut on the shaft.

Trust me, I learned the hard way. Now I have a flat pitman arm on order.
