turbo tranny?

Will a turbo tranny out of an 86 or 87 pick up bolt up to my 22re fine?
85 4runner rears up front f-150s out back dual 2.28 cases 22re, rear discs, 5.29s, locked f/r, 38s....... list goes on and on

yes it will. i have a turbotranny and tcase behind my n/a 22re. the tranny kicks that ass

My friend put a turbo tranny to his 22RE the only thing he had to do was cut some of the body for the shifters to come through the floor.  Awsome tranny though nice and low geared.
1986 Toyota 4Runner 22re 5spd transmission and dual transfer cases (4.7’s in the rear). E-lockers front and rear.

2005 GMC Sierra diesel, compound turbo setup to pull.

yeah mines making some pretty gnarly noises now and i got a friend that has a trubo truck sitting in his yard, rear axle is already gone but im hoping i can at least get the tranny/tcase b4 someone else does. :thumbs:

I smoked my turbo trany last month, and I'm still lookin for another one.  :flamer:

Sounds like your refering to the R series tranny, they're stronger (supposevly) and have a lower first gear which is better for crawling.

Good trannys but expensive to put duals on because you have to get the 23 sline t-cases and adapter plate, looking at around $2000 for dual ultimate.

the low first gear is the tits. i can't wait to rebuild mine with the 5.15 1st gear....HOTDAM

Just make sure you get the turbo tranny's bellhousing as well. They're different than the W56, and G52/54 series.
