Ok, so who's with meh? :gap:

I really want to run Rubicon one more time before this years out, so I was thinking about getting a group together to run it before, during, or after Thanksgiving.

The weekend before TG I would like to stay home to watch FSU defeat USC on the 19th.

The weekend of TG probably people will want to stay home with family??

So how about the weekend AFTER TG? I'm talking about December 2nd - 4th. I will leave on Thursday evening and camp at Loon that night, then run the con fri, sat, sun. I've always complained about never having time to relax and play, so this time I'm gonna have some fun out there-

Of course I have no idea what the conditions will be like? If there will be any snow or what, but the roads open year round, so I say Snow or no snow, I am gonna run the con.

So who's with me?

2nd - 4th sounds very do-able. I will start planning and saving for it bro. I'm sure there will be snow up there, but I have no idea how much?!? Wonder if you can snowboard behind a rig on the con?  :eyebrow:  :beerchug:

Ramrod

I'd be able to do the weekend before but not the one after. sorry

Does anyone know how much snow is usually on the ground up there around that time?  :dunno: I wanna do this snow run pretty bad, but for people like you BigMike... this trip will cost you alot of time and money. I also think we all want to make sure the trail is passable. What is the latest in the season the people are know to run it? Either way we will need to keep tabs on the snow fall.

Hyena

It hasn't snowed up there since we were there.  So there isn't any snow right now.  Last year the snow started late and didn't melt untill after memorial.  I don't expect there to be too much if any snow next month.

If I get my 4runner done I will go.  :)

So which weekend are we talking about exactly then? Before TG, After TG, or Dec? Lets set a weekend and do it :driving:

I am down for anything after TG (26th-27th or 3rd-4th).

BigMike

It's in bold text, First Weekend in December.

I might be in, depends on what the situation is with my rig. More then likely i'll be down... worst case scenario i'll have a buddy trailer my rig up there. I'll be sure to bring spare axles and birfs   :gap:

This year I want body damage for my birthday! :_order:

Mike, this year will mark the 13th annual Rubicon after t-day run for me. Friday to Sunday. You are most welcome anytime here, you know that right?

Expect the nastiest weather you can imagine the High Sierra has to offer and you will be prepared.

damn. that will be interesting hahaha. i almost wish i would have saved up for cases before i sas'd my truck though. cases are probably almost more important than your front end. if your low enough you wont break as easy. hense me a few weeks ago...damn it.

I have a buddy thats in the exact same situation, its either option 1 - build up the front axle to handle the punishment or option 2 - get duals. We talked about it yesterday and I basically told him the same thing, he wont have to mob it over rocks so he'll have less breakage. Yet you have to take into consideration that your consentrating more torque to those wheels now so your truck has the ability to get caught up on a rock and keep going *SNAP*

If it where me i'd still do duals before a SAS or Axle build up.

Well the good thing about me is that I have NO lift so my CV's arnt at funky angles. I'm pretty sure they wont be an issue, plus I am not locked in the front. Ohhhh :hyper: I cant wait to drill that hole for a second shifter.

If you don't want to have to buy/make 2 different length front drivelines then do the dual and the sas at the same time.  less money spent.

Shamb

Just do a square front driveline and your only dropping $35

I'd just wait and do it all at once.  Less time, energy, thought, money spent doing things twice.

Shamb

not many people have $2500 to drop all at once though  ;)

:werd: Ya, I'm going to go with the marlin kit front and rear and that right there is $1800 and I've already got some $ into my front axle. Then I'd need tires which cost some more $. I'll be happy doing it in pieces. The duals are easier to do right now because of time and finances...well the lack of.
