i think i found the problem, the bolt holding the shift fork on the shaft was stupid loose, i tightened it up and it seems to go into gear all the way now, but flopp it, i think hes going to get another one that is known to be 100% and either sell this one or keep it for parts

not sure on what to do. if its all tightened up now and it was loose as hell before, shouldnt that of solved the problem. it would suck to have EVERYTHING back in and have it pop out of gear again. im going to install the 4.7 gears in a little while.

If it doesnt work, yeah thats gay, but if itll save you money, i say run it.

Its worth a shot to at least throw it in with a few bolts and just dont put the tcase on or something and see if it works.

thats what i was thinking but callen an colby say there needs to be load on everything to actually test it out. it does make sense though.

750 is a good price!  and i would also agree with the fact that their should be load on the t-case to properly test it.

well yeah but there is no visible wear on anything that would matter (the gear and the synchro) and the fork was the only thing that was fucked.

the only gear that showed a wear pattern was reverse from trying to put it into gear. all the synchros are fine.

well the truck officially has 23 spline dual ultimates. im pretty stoked. me and callen just finished putting everything back together. tomorrow will be getting the tranny back in it with the cases and testing. im crossing my fingers that first gear is fixed. im pretty sure it is with that bolt being tightened back up.

no i didnt. thats a good idea but what actually initially caused it was the shifter not being in 1st gear all the way for 8 or 9 months. i think it caused it to just rattle loose. its not all put back together yet so i still could. i wish my cases and tranny looked as clean as yours. i want to power wash them.
