salmon died, now the smolt emerges from the gravel
« on: Jan 03, 2008, 05:21:43 PM »
well after a very short but very rough life the salmon was ready to finish its run and be stripped down.  This is Rockwalker on heres 4runner.  It was super nice till march I think when our buddy karl decided he wanted to spin a doughnut in 4wd in the mud with 3 people in the truck and you could probably guess the rest from there.  After that billy basically just beat the :pokinit: out of it for the summer and Karl bought him this super clean 4runner replacement since he was sorry.  Now we are going to swap bodies and do some more while the body is off.  Specs are gonna be- 3rz, clocked duals & 4.7, 5.29's, detroits, hydro assist, 3 links front and rear, 16" air shocks in the rear, ? up front, 40" tires, blah blha

heres some pics:

before rollover next to my truck fresh out of shop-

flexing on the 40

still nice a couple weeks later hitting the ring-

couple days later, tides had turned.  who's running over who now?

the replacement

cleaned up a lil ready for the hammers-

and now fastfoward through some more wheeling trips and a failed attempt at stump hill last saturday because of a empty tank of gas and someones idea that Powersteering fluid worked for brakes-

im back now, he hacked off the frame from the gastank back because the tire rubbed on it and tubes cooler anyways right? were gonna cut the old runner body in half so we have a nice firewall and floor to mock the 3rz and drivetrain up to so we can get it into its ideal home

Thats a sick back bumper on the runner!  Did you guys make that, or was it bought?  Looking for a similar style for my 90 runner!

That should definitely be one nice TOY when you're done. Looking good

I like the webbing on the bumper, custom I'm guessing.

No other way to drive a 4x4. If at least one tire doesn't leave the ground on the corners then your foot ain't heavy enough. :beerchug:
