Ok, so I was talkin to a friend of mine and we were talkin bout motor options for the Amigo.  I know Marlin doesn't make crawlers for some of these motors, but these are just random ideas that I've been talkin about.  If you have another option idea, POST UP!!!

Thanks in advance ya'll!!!

I would keep it simple, meaning stock.  If you want a crawler, get a Toy.
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

I say Chevy 4.3..... or a Buick 3.8 maybe even the 3.8 Turbo or Supercharged engine. Those might be easier than you might think since for the most part an Isuzu is a GM product and for the most part an Amigo is just a smaller wb Rodeo which did come with a 4.3 option.

heh, heh, FFC has a GM product.

I ain't too partial to the 4.3 idea, I just wanted to see what you guys said about it.  I like the idea of gettin a Taco motor.... I'd have to find a complete one though w/ trans/tcase and wire harness.  :headscratch: I would just go with a complete yota, but I  my amigo so I figure I can build it with yota parts :eyebrow:

The 3.8 in my Willys get good mileage and it has a Holly 4 barrel and lots of other mods, unless there was a problem it should get fairly decent mpg for a V6 in comparison to other V6's.

Buy std cab toyota truck w/ solid axle...remove body.  Take one amigo, remove body...(unless amigo is unibody?).  Place migo body on toyota frame...wire it up...drive.

:shake_head: My ford will be my DD if I start building the Amigo.  I figure if my motor goes anytime soon, I'll start the build, but until either then or my front end goes, I"ll drive it till it all goes
