GPS recomendations

What do yo uguys recommend for a decent GPS for plotting trails and keeping track of that sort?

So far I like my Magellan Meridian Color II
Hasn't failed me yet and the software is easy to use.

I hear that there are better maping programs out there though.

IMO...Magellan meridian series is the best for the money. The meridian series takes up to 1gb sd cards too so you can upload tons of maps too. The Magellan mapsend topo cd is cheaper than the Garmin stuff but it's not as detailed either so there is a trade off. All GPSr's work basically the same the difference is in the amount of features and the amount of memory for mapping & waypoint storage. Shop around!

i have a lower end Garmin E-Trex and so far it has been perfect.  Small light and weather proof.  I havent used all of the way points or routes and it seems to be good. It didnt cost me all that much either and is very handy....good luck with the search

Same here, got the Garmin Venture, and I love it.  On sale for $125.00.  Easy and simple to use!   Bought it to do some geo-caching with the boys!    www.geocaching.com     Have fun!
