ok so i have had it with the stock tank being a rock magnet. i am planning to mount a fuel cell directly behind the cab either a 12 or a 16 gallon cell. my question is how to adapt the toyota fittings to AN the 2 none pressure lines (return and evap can) i can just get AN fittings with hose barbs on one and the corresponding AN fitting on the other side to connect to the tank correct? what about the high pressure line though? if any one has part numbers that would be great thanks.

on the return and evap, go to NAPA and ask for SAE fittings that have a  1/4" hose barb. (Weatherhead Pushlock fittings) Not sure what size fittings, as you didn't say, but AN is measured in 16ths of an inch, which means AN-4 is 4/16s, or 1/4", etc.  anyhow, SAE and AN are the same thread and taper seat (37*?), so they will work...what engine are you running?  Your avatar looks 1st gen, so there would be no pressure line off of the tank, just a suction line, in which case the NAPA fittings and a couple hose clamps will work fine.

OK, I was wrong...it's a 45* taper....anyway, a 1/4" hose to 5/16"(AN-5) fitting would be a # 10004B-305...if you go this route, do NOT use clamps on these fittings, as they are designed to hold themselves in place(hence the "PushLock" name) and if you use a clamp, the fitting will cut the hose.  Assuming the fuel cell fittings are 5/16, a regular clamp on barb would be a 05706B-305.

actualy some first gens have an electric pump in the tank and they have a pressure line i know this because mine has and electric pump in the tank, not trying to bash you or any thing and about the fuel cell  but ill keep tabs on this thread cuz i might go this route too

Yah, you're right, my 79 had an in-tank, but I thought all the 80-83s were mechanical??? If I remember right he has an 82...i dunno...

ok, thanks for the AN tech my truck is a 1985 4runner with a 1986 Exta-Cab on it, with a 22re. so yes there is a high pressure line coming off of it.
