Did you put that carpet in, looks like some quality 80's throwback shirt...sweet! :disturbed:

I had some "nice" looking carpet like that in my 85 Runner. I pulled it up and the brown, pristine factory vinyl was underneath.  :gap:

BTW: Can you post another pic of your console? I am installing my dual ultimates soon and I need some tips. :)

I got the bias ply tires, and Im going to try and find some cheap tires to drive daily so I dont tear these up too fast.... Im hoping to get around 20000 out of them if i keep up on rotations and tire pressure......

I wish I had vinyl under my carpet..  vinyl is awesome for keeping clean! I will take more pics of my console.. its sort of hacked right now.. but I plan on buying a new console piece and trimming less next time around.. I will take a good picture and show you where it actually needed to be trimmed on mine so you can get an idea...

Thanks for the response guys..

The biggest thing about those tires is keeping them in balance.  My brother has one that has gotten out of balance and it's worn the tread pretty quickly in a couple of places on the tire.  He's good about keeping them with correct tire pressure and rotating them.  I told him to use 6-8 oz's steelhead BB's and that should help.

I have heard about the internal balancing weights, I will have to mention that to 4wheel parts when they mount them. Thanks for the heads up.

I just ordered my tires and rims.. should be here Monday.. I cant wait!!! Tires are 36x13.5x15 IROK
i got those rims..they are bullet proof!

chim

The rims are a standard 3.5" back space...  thats good news that they hold up well..  I cant afford to be replacing stuff like that,.. I will need to save money for axles!

chim

Here is a better picture of my cut console...  the red lines show where i could have cut instead of going crazy and cutting everything..

chim

Here is the picture of my compressor installed for the ARB's along with a finished picture of the dash with the switches.

chim

Quick ditch flex again to check bumpstops and shocks...  then the last pic with the sissy tires on.

chim

Here is a pic of the rock sliders being prepped...  I had the plates laser cut from 1/4" steel along with thicker gussets to make them stronger.

chim

Here is a pic with the new tires and rims..  along with the sliders on, and then me testing them to make sure they can handle the load!

chim

messin around with the forklift..

couple more cool shots

Thanks for the console pic

Those look like Marlin's $99 sliders?

Great build, but it's never "done" so what is next on the list. :)

They are the $99 specials..  they work awesome!!  Done for now means that I am out of money!

chim

They are the Marlin trail flex kit springs...  4" in front and 5" rear because of the added weight of the top

red90runner

Nicely done man. It looks excellent. Very nice work on everything. It turned out really nice.

I was at browns camp just over a month ago, the trails have not really chanced lots, some old ones are closed and some newer ones.  Still a great place to go wheelin.   My friend rolled his runner up there on september 24, it was an 87,  I found him a stripped 85 runner for 500 dollars so now we will transfer all his stuff.  Maybe I could get a hold of you for advice when we do the swap.  I live in Newberg, love toyotas and love wheelin.  Nice freeking rig.

Truck looks good. Is there anyway you could take measurements on both the front and rear springs, from the spring plate on top of the leaves to the bottom of the frame? I'm in the market for some new springs and was trying to find how much lift Marlin's springs actually have. thanks.

I havent done anything with this thread for a while, But I have been getting some small things taken care of on my truck... The new bumper I bought from mr4x42u for a good deal... I cleaned it up a bit but want to reinforce it before I mount the winch on it.. Also, I got some 38.5 TSL SX for daily driving  :yesnod:

How does your 4Runner drive with the 38.5 SX's???  I am considering them for my 4Runner but am kinda worried about the size and weight of them compared to the 36" Iroks.  Does the 22RE have enough to turn them down the highway and up mountain passes?

The power sucks.. daily driving on them is fine, but when you hit a hill.. your down shifting! I would prefer to run 36's for daily driving, but I got these for cheap...
