How much is too much for IFS calipers?
« on: Aug 15, 2005, 02:55:41 PM »
I was out at the junkyard this past weekend getting a rollbar for my 84 4Runner that didn't have one.  Found one for $15.  Anyways, I found an IFS 4Runner with the front calipers still on there.  I want to convert to the FJ rotors and IFS calipers.  They wanted $20 a piece, $40 a pair.  Is that too much to pay for brake calipers?

Thanks  :beerchug:

Uhhh...won't you keep your calipers and do the vented rotor conversion while isntalling the axle?

Also, Pepboys sells loaded reman IFS calipers for like $35 ea.  The pads are junk, but the calipers are usually pretty well rebuilt.  Might check that out, as opposed to unknown condition junkyard calipers...

I usually hate Pepboys junk, but a buddy put 'em on his truck and they work fine.  my  :twocents:
