Hey guys great forum, I am one of those Jeep drivers, but I work on alot of Toyotas. I have lurked around here for some tech help before. I am president of the Big Bend 4x4 club in Alpine, Texas. We have a really small club and are always looking for new members and new places to wheel. If any of you guys are in the big bend area, you are welcome to wheel with us. Our membership is free. We currently have 5 members. We used to have over 20. I am trying to get this club going agan. We have 1 Toyota minitruck, 2 jeeps and 1 sammy in the club. Only the Jeeps are set up for serious rockcraling right now. We are working on the minitruck at my house. We have installed a marlin crawler 4.7 t-case and welded up the rear diff so far. Let me tell you that I love this little truck already. After we lift it and put 35" tires, Brick will be able to go with us on some of the more difficult stuff. I am already looking at importing a BJ-70 or Disel Hilux for a expedition type rig. My current rig 74 CJ-5, 304 V8, 37" mtrs, hydro steering, 86to1 crawl ect..

:welcome:  :therethere: It's ok we understand your secret desire to convert your jeep to a Toyota drivetrain, then you can actually have really low gears. There have been sightings around here of a WillyMammoth that it's dna was crossed with godzilyota, it is indestuctable.  :talkingn:

Sounds like my Jeep, is why it's a garage queen now, and why I bought the 80 Toyota for it's dependability. Every time I take it out it comes home busted, and usually on the towbar. My Toy has yet to not return home on it's own, not to say it didn't get some damage. I've thought about doing the Toy coversion like the Mammoth but he beat me to it. It's the same color too so if I went off and did it that would be just  :stopit:  I was thinking more like a 4.3 with Toy from that point on and the Mammoth got me thinking about a diesel.  But it's pretty cool doing 4 wheel burn outs and pulling wheelies  with it with that light and very built engine it has now..........  maybe that's why I keep breaking it. Oh I almost forgot my Toy did have that one valve set screw back out, but I did drive it that way for about a week before I fixed it.
