Im not realy ready to do this swap yet but i hope to in the near future. I have an 86 4runner with the 22-rte and auto tranny
. Its sasd and will have 35's in a couple weeks. I hate the auto so i want to swap in a 5sp turbo tranny. I beleive that the tranny i need find is a r-151 or r-151f? Im not realy sure... Along with the tranny ill be needing a tcase and clutch and linkage and all that good stuff. Did the turbo 5sp trannys have a different tcase than the normal 5spd trannys? Will my computer still work with a 5spd or i will i have to get a diff computer? Does anyone have a complete list of what it would take to do this swap? Last but not least i get the feeling im going to be in over my head...so what would a shop charge to do this?
