So I'm in the process of "pimping out" my 1984 Toyota 4Runner.  Here's the pretty new paintjob.

Sanding.

Bringing it to the booth.

Taping her up.

Basecoat

Laying out the flames on the hood.

Final decision.

Laying out the flames for the sides.  They look complicated.

Sticky paper.

Blue pearl gets laid down.

Airbrushing in some detail.

Clear coat put down.

The ghost blue tribals look really sweet in person.  Camera doesn't really catch it like your eyes do if you walk past.

It's getting lifted this week and some pretty new rims and 35" MTR's are going on it.

Sweet paint scheme. Is it going to get wheeled up on the con?
Everyone starts off in life crawling but lots of us grow up and still are crawling around everywhere

slabcs

Yeah it's going up there, but I'll have to be very careful.

swampers suck on the road, MTR's are great.

I'm going with MTR's because I'm getting a pretty good deal on 5.

Some progress:

The rear will be taller after I get my shackles, it's on the stock shackles right now and they are flattened out when the truck is on the ground.  It still needs steering and brakes before it's driveable, but it's coming along.  Those are my brother's dirty tires and rims, but I'll get mine on there ASAP.

That paint is really nice, its going to hurt the first time you scrape a rock against it or drag a tree branch along it. How much did that set you back? Im guessing you know somebody?

Yikes, that thing looks good. In my old days, I had something like that done to my lowered Mazda Pickup. Look good in car shows. Its really going to hurt the first time you scratch it. Better put a full exo on this thing. Looks really good thoe

That paint is just sick!

It's going to suck listening to rocks and trees scrape against it when you wheel it

slabcs

Thanks for all the compliments.  I don't know if I'll make an exo cage for it, I don't think it's really necessary thus far.  This is my daily driver.  I've got some more pictures for you guys too.

Steering

Blacked out the undersides to doll it up.

Washed my new (old) tires and spanking new rims.

Finally got it out and running, sorry about picture's, it was too dark for the camera to do well.  I'll get some more pictures tomorrow.

The paint.
