Dual Batteries and 22RE?
« on: Feb 18, 2021, 10:05:06 PM »
Hi All,

I have a 79 with a 22RE in it and I am wondering if I’ll need to run dual batteries to run all of my auxiliary stuff (lights, winch, light bar, dash plugs, etc.) or if I’ll just need an “upgraded” alternator and bigger battery? Would I even be able to fit 2 batteries in there if I needed to?

I don’t know much about electrical systems so please someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,

Battery isolator is the way to go.  Do some reading, and you can find various setups, just figure out what your need is, and how much you want to spend.  Alot will do a isolator, and get a Deep Cycle battery for the accessory option.
