Electric locker manually engaged/disengaged. How?
« on: Apr 13, 2005, 09:20:54 AM »
If the motor on your Taco electric locker is damaged or the wiring to it has been torn out or damaged.  How do you manually engage or disengage your locker?   I am unable to find any information about how to do this.  I have found info that says it can be done but no instructions on how.  Any help would be welcome.   Thanks in advance.

Remove the two nuts and one bolt holding actuator on.  With screwdriver pry shiftfork to unlocked position.  Locking the unit manually would require jacking it up to allow you to turn the wheels to align the shift hub.  You may have to jack up the wheel to unlock it as well.  Jacking it up helps unload the shift hub/axles.
