New yota owner
« on: Apr 05, 2020, 04:09:10 PM »
Recently purchased my 1988 toyota pickup 4x4 and about three months later I blew a rod . Thinking about doing a 20r/22r hybrid or just swap with a Chevy 350. Any reccomendations?

I wouldn't recommend either of the motors that you are considering. I've had a 85' pickup that I swapped a 350 into and I would never do it again. I have also had several 22R's and 20/22R hybrid's. The best option is to get a good low mileage 2RZ or 3RZ. There's lot's of info on the swap and it makes for a very reliable, powerful driveable truck.
