Quick Question
« on: Dec 20, 2019, 06:51:21 PM »
Anyone have experience installing Marlins 1979-88 Shortbed & XtraCab Rear Bumper? There are 4 holes for mounting. Are the 2 middle holes the ones that are supposed to be used? Just cant seem to get the holes lined up on a 85 Pickup.

If you mean these holes, they should line up with the ones on each frame rail.

Are you trying to install it by yourself?  If so, it will be easier if you can support while you get it lined up.

Might also try installing the rear bolt on one side, then the other, then swing it up into place, support it, then try to line the front holes up.

Yes I think those arrows are pointing at the two middle holes. Ill just have to keep messing with it and moving it all around until I can get a bolt it. I had some help while attempting it. Maybe I just need some better help to keep it steady.

Got it installed  Looks great to me. Had it powdercoated a light grey to match my winch mount. What ended up being the problem was my tailpipe was too far back towards the rear of the bed so I had to chop quite a bit of it off to get the bumper to sit in the correct position. Tailpipe looks pretty ugly but the bumper makes up for it  :disturbed:
