I didn't realize this was a bomber chassis, he was just wheeling with us at hammers. That trail chassis is bad ass

rapier46

It's not a bomber but it should be pretty neat.   I'm keeping the Toyota together, and building this thing separate.   Doing Ford 9" housings with Dana 60 outers.   Toyota engine and trans to an atlas tcase.

camhays556

Thats going to be sweet! I am thinking about doing 609 axles under my taco

Is that a special type of axle or the ratio?

609s describe an axle with a Ford 9" center and dana 60 outers.   Strong and usually fairly light, or at least lighter than one tons.

rapier46

The 22re was getting real tired.    Headgasket was leaking pretty and so the truck was really smoking the last couple trips.  Finally let go a few weeks ago after another THOROUGH beating in the snow.

Time for a little upgrade for summer.

rapier46

After significant delays for parts I was finally able to get the engine in and runni my last week.  Thing is absolutely gutless.   Might actually be slower than the 22re was

rapier46

Good is back on so it must be done

I'm guessing because it feels slow because it's turbo my 37s through dual cases.   The engine felt ok when I pulled it from the 2wd Tacoma.

I agree on that cam. The rear has nothing for flex. Front moves ok.

This truck is usually getting abused out in the rocks and trees on west coast bc

The tight spots are...tight...

rapier46

First test ride with 2rz

More peer than the 22re but needs a turbo.

And now it needs some serious love.
