I will not be going home over the wagon trail. It's the wrong direction, just to let you all know.

Thanks for chiming in. I figured you wouldn't be, coming from where you are it wouldn't make much sense.

I live in Black Diamond just 40 minutes from Greenwater.  After talking with the guys today about the trail network I am even more confused about trail head locations and FS roads, but if I am thinking correctly, I think I want to go on the wagon trail home with you.  In fact today I was thinking that's how I was supposed to get to the camp site on arrival, but then the guys corrected me and said "no thilly, our trucks will get dirty, lets just take the paved roads".

Getting to the campsite couldn't be easier. Its 410 the whole way until you come to a hard right turn in the highway immediately after passing over the naches river. On the left immediately after the river is "Little Naches Rd" which is FS-19 which then becomes FS-70. The camp will be somewhere off of that road. I will have a sign with the Marlin logo and an arrow pointing to where it is off that road.

Really?  Ummm, I was planning Friday evening going up.  Depending on what time you are rolling through my area I may consider it.  I get off at 5pm so if  you think you are in the ball park after that then I'm sure I can try to take a Friday off for added festivities and spirits...

Definitely take Friday off as Friday will be a full trail day. If you don't come Friday you are going to miss a lot of the trails.

EASYRYDERDANGER

Just a heads up for everyone.  I have talked to several different people, and looking on several other forums the weekend of this event could be busy. I have to work on that Friday but plan on going in early so I can get out of there and get up and save a good camping spot.

63W

Forget that I got my mouths mixed up it June that it's going to be busy. Sorry I'm a idiot some times. Haha

July will be busy. Naches is always busy in the summer. Its only open for a short amount of time and every serious wheeler in the state gets up there at least once for the season.

By the way how did it go? Did you get to the higher elevations? How is the snow level?

Only went as far as rd 1913. No snow were I was. Helped fix a mud hole on the wagon trail  it went really well they finished it up on Sunday. They are talking about having another work party  on the 24-25 to fix a bridge. It was all of 85 degrees up there, the biggest problem was the mosquitos. Haha

Pretty much just raised up the trail a couple feet and put some logs on the sides to hold it all together

The most current, and always fluid, plan is for my wife and I to make a Saturday day trip for this event.  A big apology to helipilot77 for retracting my offer for him to ride shotgun on this trip, I can't pass up the chance to have my wife go wheeling with me. The family camping trip is currently planned for earlier in the month but this weekend would be Plan B if family call schedules exclude Plan A.
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

Well that makes 3 people now who need seats to ride in. If you are bringing a rig and have seats available please let it be known here so we can find these guys somewhere to sit.

Is the plan for Saturday still to wheel up to Funny Rocks and Moon Rocks pretty much hang out there for the day?  In any case, what time do you anticipate heading out of camp?

I think my plan will be to join the group for the trip up to the rocks, hang out for a few hours, and then head out and take the smooth dirt road over the pass on the way home to change up the scenery.

It will be very similar to the last day you came up. We will spend first part of the day at the rocks and then take Lilly Pond (the trail with the hill climbs) to Kaner Flats to camp.
