Topic: 22re running ruff??????

so my 4runners sat all week. ran fine when parked. i fire it up and let it warm up. come back outside and its idleing low. i rev it up and seems fine i drive around for a while it idles low and misses. hold it at 1krpm for a while then it will stay there??? also if i pull the oil cap off while its running it died

so the check engine  ligth flashes ever 20 seconds or so. seems to load up after idleing runs great once u drive it

check engine ligth randoms flashes once 11 time next time 2 then its off for a while slamed hood then it started running better and no check engine ligth. i got no idea whats going.

if my computer got wet could it make it do this?

runs kinda ruff. randomly will idle up to normal rpm and run fine then randumly run ruff agin. no idea looked over everthing this has me stumped

What year/engine to start with? If the ECU got wet it may not start; depends on how wet you're talking about. Lots of things can cause a misfire/rough idle so start with basics:

fuel
air
spark
compression
corroded grounds
loose battery terminals
truck is dirty
AFM operation
fuel filter/pressure regulator
plug wires/plugs

Then there's the sensors... AFM, TPS, IAT and so on.

disconnect your TPS and see if it runs better.....

I unplugged tps it idles higher runs the same. Cleaned mag wiggled ever wire.  Hopeing Monday it will have fixed its self lol

It's a 86 runner 22re guy said its a 93 motor

that sounds like my runner too
mines is a 88 3.0 though

i tried:
cleaning throttle body and idle air valve
changed o ring on the idle up screw
checked for cracks on the intake tubing
checked plugs
still does it when it wants to, just randomly too, idle screw backed out about half way just so it doesnt idle down and die so it sits at really high idle
i got a check engine light once, it stayed on until i shut the motor off and didnt come back on when i restarted it

next is:
fuel filter
check o2 sensor
check fuel pump (maybe getting weak??)

if that doesnt work then its time to part out
sucks cause i just redid the front end and lifted it a little to clear 33"

Drove it tonight it fixed its self

 It came back. Randomly starts missing after idling for a while. No check engine ligth

It's my o2 sencer it's not getting power the po cut and spliced a lot of wires idk where the factory plug is
