I'm thinking three miles. Not all of the trails in my directions are on this map.

The first missing segment is pretty obvious,just run off the end of the OHV trail,T into the other trail and go left.

The next missing segment goes from right after the next junction that "is" shown to the two structures(squares)in the middle of the map,then do an upside down V around the first cabin and tie into the trail near the last junction shown before the Dusy-Ershim.

They need to figure out how to stop all the enviro nonsense. I'm not saying public lands should be abused, but as populations increase they should allow new growth of all types of trails to accommodate more people using them. It isn't any different than expanding freeways. Just my

So 2 weeks ago we ran into Ershim lake.  There were three matching tents in the campground, however no one was around.  About an hour later two ladies showed up.  They told us that they were fish and game, and that they were doing a frog survey on the lakes.  Weird thing is that even though we were polite, they chose to pack up there camp and move to the lake just south of ershim.  That was fine with me because i don't like to share anyhow, but i cant help but think they moved just out of sight to watch us and see if we behaved.  It worries me any time i see people on an ohv trail looking for frogs.

Wow, very interesting. I'm sure they are up their often but it's the first time I've heard of it. They must be researching the Yosemite Toad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yosemite_toad) which is 1) endangered, 2) have a mating season that has now restricted the use of the Dusy/Ershim trail, and 3) I've never seen one of these in my entire life and I've been on the Dusy/Ershim since 1984.

Our tax dollars at work, trying to research & prove ways to keep the public out of public lands.
Those tents were from green sticker funds..........Soon the only people allowed to enjoy the forest will be government employees.
