I live in Georgia and Utah, both good for off road.  I love diesel. I have a 240 Mbz,  a Jetta 1600 diesel.  a Ford 700 Box truck, and my current project a 1984 Toy pickup from which I have removed the 22RE and am putting in an L series diesel.  I know it is slow. 62 HP. The trans came without the shifter. Can anyone sell me one? I think it is a L-50 or 52, iron case, bell housing half integral iron and half aluminum, starter on the drivers side,  forgot to look at the input bearing size. definitely not a W series. I started wrenching  during  WWII. You would think that at my age I had learned better than to still be turning nuts and bolts! the engine has a serial number starting with zero followed by six digits.
