Dual case mounting options?
« on: Jul 12, 2011, 05:00:07 PM »
I'm getting ready to do a 4wd conversion on an '87 pickup and need some advice on mounting the dual-cases. Since it is a 2wd, I will need to fabricate a new crossmember. I would like to use the 10 degree rotated adapter from Marlin to gain a little clearance under the rear case.

My question is what would be the best way to build the mount since the rear case mount is rotated?

I already have a 4xInnovations T-case mount, can I place this under the crawl box and leave the rear case "unsupported"? Should I put the mount under the rear case and build the crossmember to match the angled mount, or just buy an FROR style plate mount?

Buddy made a fror style one and got everything above the frame rails.  That is with a slight body lift though, only like an inch.   A complete flatbelly looks awesome.

Since you already have the mount, Build your own based off of the full 4x innovations crossmember.

I have the BudBuilt dual crossmember and a R10 case  and its complex to say the least  the rear case isnt supported due to the fact there isnt any way to mount it UNLESS YOU MAKE ONE LIKE I DID  I got a stock mount and cut the top and bottom parts away from the rubber part and used the top half to mount to the case (like normal) and then I got a piece of flat bar that is thick enough to slide under the top mount and the BB skid plate and tacked it together  then had finish welding outside and it was all boxed in
pix to come soon

Does 4xInnovations still make their T-case skid, I can't find it on their site? I may end up just getting the standard rotation adapter to make everything easier, twin-stick, mount, etc..
