Not my thread but I had the same question and now Im gonna try it this weekend.  I Daily drive but its a country/mountain road about 7 miles each way.  Not in town driving.

mountain roads that are curvy are worst than city cuz it usually higher speeds and more turns but still doable just dont try in the snow

makes sense.  Welded her up wed night.  It doesn't drive that bad, even in the pouring rain.  Pushes a little at first but then oversteers if you make it... Obviously traction is a billion times better.  Really impressed with that.  My only concern is my tires.  Time will tell!  But so far, I agree with others... WELD IT.

I works, it's cheap, and as long as you remember that it is welded and try not to accelerate on turns you'll be fine even in snow. Been there done that and would do it again.

Welded diffs suck on slippery sidehills..  imo of couse. I never had a problem driving on curvy mountain roads 40 miles a day.
