Has anybody swapped a cummins in a ford? I have 92 f350 runs fine but cummins would be better. :driving:

Hmmm, could cause the great and powerful Cummins to have a huge allergic reaction to being abused in such a manner. :puke3:

you get  motor mounts and an adapter to the ford trans. and any wiring you want to buy instead of doing it yourself or ac conversions things like that. or like the 12v isnt live wire so you have to put in a throttle cable lots of little stuff invovled nothing hard

After all said and done, are you happy with the swap? What kind of cost? Did you do it yourself?

PUTTING IN THE 12V WAS ALOT CHEAPER THAN REBUILDING A 7.3. AND YOU CAN BUILD ALOT MORE POWER FOR THE BUCK OUT OF THE CUMMINS

Got the both of the best worlds right there. A buddy told me about it when I was thinkin bout buyin a tow rig. He said you could get it from the factory...?? Sounds badass tho. It'd be a tuff decision cause i love the 7.3s

The guy that towed my rig to Moab a couple of weeks ago drives a 94 Dodge diesel and he mentioned that Cummins is actually owned by Ford but can't be used in the F150, F-250 or F350 due to contractual obligations.  He said you can get an F450 with a Cummins and I think he said you can even get a Cumnins with a Allison transmisison out of the Chevy's.  I have not looked this up to confirm, but it sure sounded interesting.

I called fordcummins.com and got all the info, kinda pricey but less than a years payment on a newer rig. I've shopped Dodges but there's always something wrong(transmissions mostly). I have a Hughes rebuilt E4OD, I emailed
them and asked if the Cummins would void the warranty and they said bolt it in your good to go...very good !

I remember when Ford bought into Cummins, and there were stipulations that came out about when they can use the motor.  Bleakhorizon on here could confirm all the facts.  You can order a F350/450 with a Cat motor.  And before you say no, I have a friend that ordered one.  It's something that they don't advertise.

Just google "ford buys cummins" and it comes up with lots of articles about it.  Ford bought into Cummins stock.  But Dodge doesn't own Cummins.  They are just contracted to use their motors.

My buddy went with a 95 12v. Put it  in a 03 f350 that he bought cheap with a blown up 6.0 power joke. 12 valve and the ford 6 speed make a good combination
