'83 Cummins

i am curious if you guys could assemble a diff with different gears than what you have advertised on the site? i have an '83 pickup with a Cummins 4BT Diesel in it, so i have more of a need for a higher gear ratio.
please let me know!

I think a 4BT weighs around 750 pounds. Definately too much for a Toy.

dry weight is 570 lbs.
im in the process of rebuilding the axels to match the power, puttin in an NV4500, and upgrading the suspension to handle the weight.
so if i called you guys with whatever ratio you could build it for me? would the cost be much different than the pre-assembled diffs you guys already sell?

If the ratio is available the cost will be the same as the comperable built unit listed on the web. On another note that is one heavy dude.  You might want to think about using toy thirds with that motor.  Don't know how much torq you will be putting down but those are only 8 inch gears in there.

the engine puts out around 327 ft. lbs at 1700rpms, i think those are the right numbers.
at the moment, my rear diff is gettin ripped out from the torque and it needs to be replaced. i want to build up the rear end when i put in a new diff, so what would you suggest for the diff and for the rear end?? i was plannin on using your Chromoly rears, but should i be doing something else?
BTW, here is a pic of the beast that i speak of.....

truck looks awesome... i would say to d60s... jsut to be safe.... look at the numbers, the toyota 22r put out 100 hp --- your pushing like 350% of that!!!! the 8" are very stout, but then your truck is a lot stronger than those toys were set up and heavier

327 lbs  of TORQUE   not HP,  hes  still  past the torque a 22R   would put our  with dual cases

it does sound like a big rig! once i fix some stuff, i plan on puttin a 3in glass pack on it.

another question for you guys, i need ladder bars for this thing. where is the best place to find them? i have searched for them but havent found much at all for 1st gens.

how much you got, go's good with that questn. depends on were you live around here you could get a set for under $1000 maby as low as $600 if you spend some time looking or you could go to pull-a-part and get some off an old one ton.

its a good engine. lots of torque and great mileage!
theres nothing like accelerating in fourth, up a hill!!!
