Topic: L52 Trans Q's

Ok I am about to throw this transmission in the trash, I need some help. I got a tranny from a guy that was missing the top plate that the shifter goes into. It is the same trans as the one already in my truck. I pulled mine and swapped the top plate's (with the shifter plate) into the new trans I got. On the garage floor I was able to get the trans into 1,2,3,4,5 and reverse no problem. I put the trans up right, on the bell housing, and bolted up the dual cases. Now all of a sudden the shifter is stuck in the nuetral position but the trans it self is in reverse! I have tried putting the cases in every gear and also spun the output shaft while trying to put it into/out of gear, no luck. I am about to have a conniption fit! So what do yall suggest to fix it. its not easy to get all the shift forks in the right spot but its got to be done.

you must get the top off again get the forks all in the neutral position and the shifter in the neutral position also.  best way is to lay it over on a 45* angle so you can look in and make sure everything is in the right place
