front end clunk
« on: Feb 10, 2003, 03:39:05 AM »
I have a clunk in my right front side wen I'm turning under power in 4-wheel drive. I'm wondering if its a worn out birfield (does this happen?) or just a worn out baring. I need to rebuild both knuckles and nead to know what to look for. I'm only running 31's, with no lockers or low gears.  I bow to your god like knowledge.

The best thing to do is just take it apart and look. A clunk would not be from wear. Most of us who have heard it before can tell you when they hear it. A broken birf has a distinct sound. Did you do something to cause it to start clunking?
