Pitman Arm
« on: Mar 06, 2010, 08:58:51 AM »
I just installed highsteer on my 4runner and i lost the pitman arm :shake:.   so i was looking on marlins website and found a pitman arm insert. It doesnt have any description on it, but i am wondering if the insert is made so you can run a stock pitman arm with highsteer? any help is appreciated.   thanks tyler

the insert is so you can use a stock pitman arm.  you will have to cut the tie rod end out of the stock pitman arm and weld in the tapered sleeve. Then the tie rod end on the high steer will fit right into the pitman arm.  If you need a pitman arm, I have another stock one with the sleeve already welded in I will sell ya.  I sold one 83crawler12 on this forum a couple months ago, he said it worked great for him!   25 bucks shipped if you need it

i sorta made my own one of these, and much to my amazement when i ground the cap off i was greeted with a very high speed spring and cap flying past my head....

If you modding your own pitman,   be carefull
