CHARGING PROBLEM

MY ALT.'S NOT CHARGING MY BATTERY. TRIED EVERYTHING I READ ON HERE. IS THERE ANY OTHER POSSIBLE WAYS TO REWIRE MY WIRES DIRECTLY FROM MY ALT. TO MY BATTERY?...

Have you checked the output on the alt with volt meter ?  also check the output on the voltage regulator. If both those are showing a charging status then you need to check to see if your getting 14v to the battery wires.  If all that checks out then its your battery.

is this a new alternator or old??  stock 79 ??

79coyotefrg : the alt. is new and yes its a stock 79....on a rebuild....whats wierd i found out is that my previous alt. is from a 78. so i dont know if it would make a difference or not.

I have found that if the charge light in the dash is not working it will not complete the circut to excite the alt.
side note, I've adapted a chevy one wire into all my trucks now. SO MUCH EASYER.

YOu can get bad reman alts btw
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?
