Parking Brake Help
« on: Jun 20, 2009, 07:45:42 PM »
  I am finishing a lift and the parking brake lines don't hook up due to the taller spring pack. What do you guys use for parking brakes, and how did you hook them up? Also what about the arm that goes down to the rear axle to adjust the rear brakes due to load. That doesn't reach any more, If I do away with it will I have any problems? Thanks for the help.   ???

Just take a piece of 3/8 ish flat stock and extend it up a few inches, just kinda match the lift.  NWOR sells them, but it's honestly just a few bolts and flat stock with holes if I remember right  :headscratch:

a lot of people just ziptie it up to the bottom of the bed and cut the rest of the rod off.....

you can also reblump the line and bypass it as well...

might want to add a aftermarket proportioning valve also

My spring pack isn't as tall as yours but I bent the brackets on the axle up. Then I took a piece of plastic tube cut it, slide it over the cable & melted it back together so the cable can slide without cutting into the spring.
