My parking brake cable has snapped several times.  I have fixed it before, but i have no interest in paying for a new cable (32 bucks was the cheapest).  The junkyards around me dont hav many toyotas, so i am out of luck there.  Is there another way of putting in a parking brake>?  I have heard of the driveline brakes and suck, biut i am not sure what thse consist of.  Right now, I use a brick :smack:

I didnt dig to deeply, I just went and felt out the prices a little.  Dealer was $65  :slap:
Kragen was $32 and i think autozone was about $40.  Both kragen and autozone would have had to order it.

For the temp fix, I got the cable from Ace hardware,  and splices the connectors at the rear onto it.  I took the lead ball and cable off an old bike brake cable, and spliced it to the cable in the front, and put the lead ball in the e brake handle.  It worked alright, but there isnt much room in the handle slider for the splice, and it keeps catching.  Tat is where it keeps breaking.  If yours is broken under the truck, I would just splice it with the cable splicers you can get at any hardware store that carries that type of cable I beleive it is called aircraft cable?  They just clamp on around the ends, and you crimp them down.  I just didnt think that 35-40 bucks was worth it.  I think the cable and the splices cost me something like $8.

My buddy is into hot rods and has a line lock in his car, he uses it for brake stands at thhe track to warm up his tires without fryin his brakes. It's a hydrualic lock out u put between your master cylinder and front rear or both brake lines when you need a parking brake press the brake pedal and pull the switch and your set and this one won't break.    :twocents:  :turtle:   Ho ya I got the same problem and I don't want a driveline brake either  :nonono:

And I'm pretty sure he told me summit sells them parrt # about 4 down  BMM-46076 69 bucks but the last parking brake cable youll buy  :beerchug:

Stretch it, and see if it goes that far.  You might have to  adjust the e brake assemblies on the wheels, but it might work
