Hey guy´s I am having a problems with my ´92 4runner.... I can´t find a parking brake cable for it ??? do you know about a part number or a good part shop online that can send me the cable....
4runner body on a hilux frame = Hi-Runner.
2,4 dti duals 2,28 x 2,28 to 8" 5.71 with arb´s  and 39,5" trxus
gathering parts for my goal which is
350 Chevy 700r4 auto to 2.28 x 4.70  and 4.88 9,5" cruisers diffs,diamondaxles and cable lockers, 44" richard cepecs

I have seen posts where people said local parts stores had their cable but,  I could not find an aftermarket front section cable for my 88. Cheapest I found was around $70 at the dealer.

I did find rear sections at Autozone, Checker, etc.

Do a search on here. I think there is an online parts source called Toyota DIY or something like that.

Napa shows the cable on their wedsite but when i called them couldn't produce it. I'm sure if you looked you could find one, or ofcourse get a used one, or even make your own if you really really had to.
If you see it, its for sale.

I'm glad zippo mentioned the NAPA website. When I called NAPA and other parts stores, NOBODY even listed front cables.

I checked NAPA online and found a NAPA part number and another brand they carry part number.

Called the local store again and they told me they don't list one. Gave them the part number I found online and they got it ordered for me. Only $17.49!

(it can be confusing, USUALLY the front one breaks right inside the cab)

then find an online dealer and buy from them, call around with the part number and see where is cheapest.

I spent about $75 on mine for my 94 extra cab.

I think I ordered from toyotapart.com or maybe toyotapartscenter.net??

and I would not be surprised if the part you ordered ends up being the rear cable for the left or right side... the $75 price is about right for the complexity of the cable.

NAPA came through for me. I got the front section parking brake cable for $17.49.

I have been driving for months without a parking brake because I just couldn't bring myself to pay the stealership what they were asking for the cable.

I WAS WRONG!

NAPA got me a cable that looked right but ended up being about a foot too short. Took it back, ordering OEM.

The dealer in Tucson wanted over $80. I bought mine online for about what you paid.
