What is the length of this transmission?  I can't seem to find length's anywhere.  Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply!

My current Toyota transmission is 21" (L52 I think).  I only have 2" clearance until I hit radiator.  Looks like I'll have to stick with my current setup.

um. why would you move the engine to mount the tranny? :dunno:

Well, since the W56 is longer I would have to either move the engine forward or move the t-cases back.  Moving the t-cases back would force me to redo the driveshafts also.  So two cross-members + driveshafts is more than two engine mounts.  Moving the engine forward is a better option.

Really what I was wanting to do is swap my 1.6TD for a Sidekick 1.6L engine.  Do do that I would need to replace my trans with the newer model that has a removable bellhousing.  Then use the Ringr adapter and Sidekick bellhousing.  This would make my total length 5-6" longer.  I only have about 2 inches of clearance in front of my engine.  And my t-case outputs are already further back then I like.  I'm at 107" wheelbase and I really don't want to be any longer.

So, just too much work at this time for me.  My next choice is to use the 22RE engine, if I can fit it in. lol

Please excuse the hijack.

there not alot of room to move it forward and i think you would have problems with your stick shift hitting the dash if you moved the engine forward i guess it could be bent  :dunno: anyways the trans is still for sale if anyone is serious about buying it .

If it was in San Diego, or could be in San Diego, I would be serious about buying it. Are you going to be down this way any time soon?

Cut the crossmember out and move it back, new rear driveline, new front driveline.  But, I was trying to get by with only having to do motor mounts and not tearing my whole buggy apart.

Looks like I'm going to do that anyway.  I'm looking for the Suzuki 1.6L engine right now, soon as I find one, then I'm getting the W56 with a Ring-R adapter to the Zuk engine.

If this trans is still here when I find my Zuk engine, I'll buy it.
